DIY Wishesh: Tablet stand

Tablets are becoming the order of the day with the bigger screen sizes replacing the conventional media players for a more personalized experience while watching videos or reading books. Newer  tablets have amazing facilities that allow you to connect a full fledged USB keyboard and mouse via an OTG Cable. But the point is do you always have to hold the tablet in your hand while you use it? Simple answer is no but what if you are not interested in shelling money for a premium dock or a mere stand which you have to pay for?

Tablet stands generally cost anywhere from Rs 500 and above for the standard ones. You can make your own device though if you can make use of the parts in your home for no price at all.

What you wil need

A card board box

Scissors,

Tape,

Pen,

Cutter and of course

Tablet or phone

Step 1: Take any card board box, the stronger the better. However, the stronger it is, the difficult it is to make a case too.

Step 2: Open up the box as shown in the picture. Make three creases if the box is too big.

Step 3: Bend the card board along the three creases and fold it such that one side is lying down completely. Tape the flap joined to the rested flap at 90 degrees. Check that the remaining freely movable flap can be taped at desired angle based on your tablet's viewing angles. 45 degrees is a comfortable angle for most modern tablets.

Step 6: This is the basic idea behind making a cheap and functional stand. You can decorate the cardboard with more attractive colors, use holes in the cardboard for more organized wiring. You can also add cardboard storage compartment by adding a box on the base for an elevated viewing purpose and storage.

Make sure that the base is comfortably wide to keep the tablet from falling down. You can use your tablet in landscape or portrait mode with this simple DIY.
