Priya. P from Kozhikode tops Eflu entrance test

Priya. P from Kozhikode has not only violently outbroke the male stronghold yet has also succeeded the exceptional distinction gaining the first person from the Scheduled Castes to top the entrance test to the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU). Furthering with it, she scored a high 89 per cent in the entrance test for admission to the BA Hons (English) programme, in the process taking the prominent place of first girl to top the exam.

Priya expressed The Hindu from Kozhikode that she is in love with books and perhaps that led to her passion towards English literature. Due to the intensified passion for literature that she convinced her father, a DGM at BSNL, who was having an earnest feel that she join an engineering course.

The student of Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1 in Kozhikode expressed that subsequent to the first rank, her parents just cannot refuse her the opportunity to study literature. She added that she is a bookworm and she never enjoyed studying science and maths. Even though the top rank was not on her mind, Priya was driven to get into EFLU, given its reputation for being one of the best colleges to study English literature. While Priya is yet to make up her mind on her career plans, she is sure it will be something related to literature.

Eflu Vice-Chancellor Sunaina Singh expressed saying that Priya would be an inspiration to all those who aspired to be admitted to the prestigious university, majorly to those from deprived communities.
