Youths forge death certificates for UK visas

Youngsters in Punjab have found novel methods to guarantee a visa to UK flying out of the country. They had resorted to forging death certificates of non existent fake relatives in the UK and applying for visas on humanitarian grounds.

The accused had scanned a original death certificate of the UK and making changes to the most important details with a computer. They then submit the same at the UK consulate to obtain a visa on the humanitarian grounds with the excuse of attending a funeral of a relative. Britain issues visas on humanitarian grounds within a few days of receiving the applications. After reaching UK the applicants  deftly escape the eyes of law.

The British high commission in Delhi had raised a suspicion after noting an unusual number of applications for the UK visas on humanitarian grounds from Jalandhar alone. They had then notified the police to begin an investigation on the same.

According to police, all applications came from Punjab's Doaba region, the biggest NRI belt in the state. They have arrested three travel agents who forged documents for Rs 6.5 lakh.
