My son is a scientists not terrorist: AM Mirza

At a press meet the police conducted on Thursday, they had announced that 10 youth were detained after they were allegedly involved in anti-national activities. A father of one of the accused had also turned out at the press meet saying that his son was a scientist and not a terrorist after he was asked to the premises.

An elderly man seemed to be the odd man out at the press meet as he had neither belonged to the police nor the press. One media person went had asked the man who he was upon which he replied that he was the father of one of the accused and suddenly all the reporters had rushed to him with the electronic equipments.

Curtly introducing himself he had managed to attract a good number of reporters who flung question after question at him. The policemen however noticed the scene at the conference's venue and had escorted the father trying to keep him away from the media.

Police also refused to reveal the identities of the accused. Mirza said that his son was a junior scientist at the Defense Research and Development Organization, DRDO. It was also found that one of the accused was a doctor and another was a journalist.

AM Mirza, the hardworking father had ensured that his son had a good educational despite hard financial conditions. After finishing his engineering, Ajaz had joined the DRDO and as the family though he was settled, his son was arrested by the police. The father angrily questioned that his son had no reason to opt for the heinous acts with such educational background. He alleged that he was being framed and the the police must publicly reveal the evidences against his son.

Irshad Ahmed Desai, a social activist from Hubli, said the police did not follow any guidelines while detaining the accused. He also said that this was an indication that something was not completely right.
