Court awards 18,000 pounds to beauty queen

In a sensational judgment, The Edinburgh Court of Sessions, on Friday awarded 18,000 pounds to a woman as she was unable to wear high heels after a car hit her. The 24-year-old beauty queen Fiona Dickie met with an accident in 2009. The car in which she was traveling was hit by a Suzuki 4x4, which damaged her back. After the accident, wearing high heeled shoe became a painful experience to the beauty queen. The doctors reportedly advised her not to wear high heels and said it was due to accident that she was feeling pain while wearing high heels.

The beauty queen, who was irked over the damaged, approached the court of law in Edinburgh. The driver of Maruti 4x4, Khandani has admitted that he dashed Fiona Dickie's car unintentionally. He said he would pay 3,500 pounds towards damages and medical expenses, which included physiotherapy treatment.

Fiona Dickie, who said she was distressed over the episode, demanded 20,00 pounds. The court, which heard the arguments, has directed Mr. Khandani to pay 18,000 pounds to Ms. Dickie out of which 10,000 pounds were for pain and suffering.

The beauty queen walked out of court victorious. But, she, however, had to give up the lucrative modeling career since it demands models to wear high heels and wearing high heels would only be aggravating her back pain.

Fiona Dickie, nonetheless, said her interest now lies in charities and similar works. She called upon the young women of this generation to be independent and opposed the idea of wife and girlfriends' culture.
