Bengaluru not safe for women anymore

IT capital Bangalore stood second in country in terms of offences against women. According to a recent report released by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has revealed that Bangalore is likely to become the crime capital of the country. The report stated that in 2011, offences against women were 1,890 (which included molestation, rape, bride burning, trafficking and indecent representation of women) while  the number was 1,570 in 2010. So, more than 3000 crime cases against women were recorded within a year.

The NCRB report ranked Delhi as number one in terms of crimes against women and Bangalore stood second. Bangalore was considered as the safest place in the country until 2006. The scenario changed slowly and now Garden City is no more a safe place for girls. The experts opined that parents who send their daughters to Bangalore for high education from north India will now choose someother place like Chennai.
