French diplomat, Pascal Mazurier, who was arrested in connection with an assault on his three-year-old daughter, is kept in Parappana  Agrahara Central Prison in Bangalore. He was produced before a local court on Wednesday, which has remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days. It may be recalled that the wife of Pascal Mazurier approached an NGO and sought its help after she allegedly found her daughter became a victim to the barbarious acts of her husband. With the help of NGO, the wife of Pascal registered a sexual assault complaint against Pascal Mazurier. She even mentioned in the complaint that medical test was conducted on her daughter to ascertain the assualt and the test proved that the little girl was subjected to penetrative assualt.

The police, who accepted the case, initially didn't take Pascal into the custody as the police were confused about his diplomatic immunity. The Ministry of External Affairs, after getting in touch with French Embassy, has made it clear that Pascal don't enjoy diplomatic immunity. Eventually, he was arrested and produced before court. Immediately after arrest, the police took him to a hospital for medical tests. Pascal was allegedly attacked by an unknown person at the hospital. Also, there were scores who reportedly raises slogans against Pascal.

The jail authorities, therefore, provided tight security to Pascal. Security has been beefed up in an around Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, said sources.

How does the cell look like?
The cell where Pascal was put behind was 12 feet tall and 10 feet wide. It has got an attached washroom. A new mattress, mosquito coil and a blanket were given to him. The cell even has a 20-inch colour television set. Pascal was given food brought from outside by one a French national.
