Miss Indore becomes Miss Asia Pacific

Miss Indore, Himangini Singh Yadu has become Miss Asia Pacific 2012. After a long gap of 12 years, Indian beauty queen won this contest. Diya Mirza was the last person to win this title in 2010. At an event that took place in Busan of South Korea, Himangini was declared Miss Asia Pacific 2012.

Himangini was selected by  “I AM She,”  a national beauty peageant, which was started in 2010. I AM She selects beauty queens and sends them to various beauty contests such as Miss Universe, Miss Earth, Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific.  In an official statement, Himangini said her efforts paid off. She thanks former miss universe Susmita Sen and I AM She.

Susmita Sen has expressed her happiness since India won a beauty contest after such a long gap. Beauty contests might really sound beauty to the ones with deep pockets. But do they really bring name and fame to the country is a million dollar question!  One should feel proud only when poverty and economic indifferences are vanished. What many economists argue is that the amount of money spent of beauty contests can fill the stomachs of crores.
