Thank you Chattisgarh Govt - released Sukuma collector

The Maoists have finally released Sukma collector Alex Paul Menon on Thursday after a captivity of 12 days. He was set free unharmed. It may be recalled that 32-year-old Menin was adbucted on April 21 in Sukma while he was on a village tour as a part of his work.

After days of mediated, Alex Paul Menon was handed over to two Maoist leaders Prof G Hargopal and B D Sharma at Tadmetla on Thurday evening.  Although local media told that Menon was released, there was still a confusion among public since no official announcement was there. The agreement reached between mediators of both sides in the fourth round of talks on April 30 paved way for the release of IAS officer.

Alex Paul Menon has thanked the Chattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh, state authorities and mediators—both from government side and Maoist side—for his release. Menon has also said that he was willing to work wherever the government asks him to and mentioned that he was even ready to stay back at Sukma.

When asked about health, Menon has said that he was okay but tired and wanted to go home soon. He has also said that he would address the media at a later point of time.
