Subramanian Swamy writes to PM

Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy has leveled allegation against the union home minister Chidambaram yet another time on 2G spectrum scam. He wrote to the prime minister today over the same and demanded that Chidambaram should be removed from the cabinet. He alleged that Chidambaram’s son, Karthi Chidambaram was hugely benefitted when he was the finance minister. According to him, Karthi Chidambaram’s firm allegedly made lakhs of rupees from a deal.

Subramanian Swamy has demanded the union home minister to step down from the post since the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cannot probe into 2G scam fairly when he is the home minister.

On the other hand, the Congress sources denied the allegation and said that Chidambaram’s son entered the business and started looking after the company only in 2009 whereas the alleged irregularities took place in 2006 according to Subramanian Swamy.

Also, the party sources indicated that whatever the amount quoted by Subramanian Swamy was a consultation fee to the company.

The union home minister is yet to give any clarification on these allegations. Will he resign from the post or take the comments easy? Well, a rhetoric question again. (Phani)
