Obama’s IT czar Aneesh Chopra to quit on Feb 8

Aneesh Chopra, 39, the Indian American IT czar who guided the IT policy of President Barack Obama for the last three years from the White House will quit his post on Feb 8.

Obama said in a statement that Aneesh found countless ways to bring technology closer to the Americans, more particularly so to the rural communities, during his stint at the White House.

Reports said Aneesh is going back to this home state of Virginia and may enter politics. However, this is not confirmed by Chopra himself.

Aneesh Chopra, who worked as the first chief technology officer at the White House, said he would go back to his state to use innovative technologies and platforms for improving healthcare, education and energy.

Chopra is mainly seen by the Americans as a person who brought e governance closer to the people through the latest developments in information technology. He is undoubtedly the force behind the accessibility of broadband to the rural Americans. (JUBS)
