On Sunday January 7 in Gauhati a terrifying incident took place where a wild fully grown leapord killed man, As the leapord attacks after meandering into a residential surroudings in the northern state of Assam.
Nearby residents in Gauhati said that on Sunday the leapord assaulted a 50 year old Lawyer when he was talking over the cell phone outside his house.As he was right away rushed to the hospital where he died.
Four other people were injured, including a man who had part of his scalp torn off by the animal in a dramatic episode captured by a local newspaper photographer.
Utpal Bora an official from Gauhati wildlife says that the authorities have arranged to release the wild cat at a wildlife park about 200 kilometers west of the city.
An environmental activist says that due to deforestation leopards has increased into populated areas. (TS)
