Even as an unseasonal snowstorm has ravaged the northeastern parts of the US killing 12 people across the region in the last three days, the authorities warned people against Halloween trick-or-treating in the extreme conditions.
The snow storm has cut off power supply to nearly two million homes in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Jersey.
“Families opting to take up traditional Halloween trick-or-treating would be dangerous in the extreme conditions and the ideas should be dropped as it would put lives at risk,” officials have served a warning while the snow had transformed several regions into Halloween winter wonderlands during the last few days.
In New Jersey alone, around 400,000 people were still without power and officials said the power supply would be back by the end of the week and similar conditions prevailed in several areas.
