A 102-year-old woman from pudukulam village in Madurai, has been elected as ward member in the recent civic polls held in Tamil Nadu. Most of the people would like to spent time with loved ones at that age, but she got elected due to her positive attitude.

Thadahathi has dispensed medical care to the village for decades and won the elections due to her positive attitude, according to P Muthuramalingam, president of the village.

"She would go and help any person in distress voluntarily," he said.
