A luxury hotel up in the air

A luxury hotel up in the airTo create a once in a life experience for fun loving customers is the motto of Harbour Crane Hotel in Harlingen in the Netherlands.  The 45m machine first came into action in 1967, hauling timber from ships sailing in the Wadden Sea. After it retired from service in the late '90s, local couple Willem Koornstra and Carla Comello turned it into a hotel for two.

The amusing features are guests can indulge in a spot of sunbathing on their own private patio roof. They can rotate the crane 360 degrees to view either the city or the sea. Sit back and relax with the seagulls.

But it’s quite a costly affair still economical considering the thrills it offers, $ 400 a night. Well it’s now time to pack for a holiday and enjoy solitude high above the maddening crowds.
