A teacher at the Totara North elementary school in New Zealand’s North Island was stunned when she learnt that the skeleton she was using to teach an anatomy lesson to the students turned out to be the real human skeleton instead of a plastic one normally used to teach. The incident took place on Thursday, according to the local paper Northern Advocate.
When the terrified teacher informed the discovery to the Principal, the latter directed the teacher to abandon the class and called police. Police also confirmed it to be a real human skeleton.
Police called experts of the Historic Places Trust who said that the skeleton belonged to a small man who must have lived in India or China. However, what is surprising is that no one in the school knows how long the skeleton has been lying in the school. The school was established in 1852.
