The central intelligence officials, who intercepted the messages of Pakistani terror outfits, Lashkar e Taiba and the Jamaat ud Daawa, have warned the Himachal Pradesh Government that the terror groups are planning to attack the Bhakra Nangal dam and asked it to beef up security for the structure.
The IB in a report sent to the HP Government has said that the Pakistani terror outfits are planning to attack the dam during the monsoon season when the dam would be full of water for causing maximum damage to the people.
Bhakra-Nangal, India’s largest dam, stores 9300 million cusecs of water and any damage to the dam will completely flood Punjab, Haryana and even New Delhi, wiping out homes and farms in all 3 states.
The messages intercepted by the IB officials indicated that the terror groups are training the terrorists in scaling the walls of the dam and to swim under water for attacking it.
