In a positive development for the state of West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamatha Banerjee said today she had found a solution to the vexed issue of Gorkha land agitation.

Addressing media persons in Kolkata after detailed discussions with Gorkha Jana Morcha, Mamatha said that the solution was found as the Morcha had agreed to the proposals put forward by her.

“In our talks today, we found solution to the vexed issue that has put the state to ransom for the last 15 years,” she said. “I will inform the details of the agreement to the Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram and a final agreement would be signed after the tripartite talks among the Centre, West Bengal and the Gorkha Jana Morcha soon,” said the chief minister curtly while refusing to talk more on the subject.

She said she would reveal the details of the agreement to the media after the tripartite talks. “Please wait with patience till then,” Mamatha told the journalists who tried their best to get some information on the agreement.
