Telugu Kala Samithi organises Ugadi Suswaralu in Muscat

"UGADI SUSWARALU" the musical and dance extravaganza held on 6th April 2012 at Le Grand Hall, Al Falaj Hotel by TELUGU KALA SAMITHI (TKS) - the Telugu Wing of Indian Social Club, Muscat was a grand success by all means.

The program started sharp 6.00 p.m. with the singing of the Rashtra Geetham "Maa Telugu Talliki Malle Poodanda" by 28 students of "Telugu Maa Badi " attired in traditional dress. The audience well received the song by thunderous applause to the song and the children who sung it. “Telugu Maa Badi” is a free Telugu teaching program to the members of TKS being conducted by Sri Peri Jagannadha Mani for the last 2 years with the intention of keeping the language intact in the community even though they are out of the state and country. TKS has aptly felicitated Sri Jagannadha Mani for his contribution to the Telugu Community Service.

Sri A.P. Jitendar Reddy, EX-MP, Mahaboob Nagar, Andhra Pradesh and a prominent TRS leader and polit bureau member was the Chief Guest of the program. Sri Jitendar Reddy, one of the founder members of the Telugu Kala Samithi which was formed way back in 1981 with a small group of 20 members dwelled upon the initial struggles they faced to organize programs for the community in those times. He was so happy to see TKS growing from Strength to Strength and reaching to a stage to conduct programs of this magnitude. He also mentioned about the felicitations done by TKS to Sri Mangalampalli Bala Muralikrishna, Sri SP Bala Subramanyam, Smt P Suseela and many others. He was so happy to be the Chief Guest of the program after 30 years by the same Samithi to which he was a founder member.

Dr Satish Nambiar, Hon Chairman, Indian Social Club - Muscat was the Guest of Honour for the program. Dr Nambiar is all praise for the TKS organizing committee which has planned and executed such a huge event. He also recollected the difficulties faced by the Samithi to get recognition under ISC and he praised the contribution of Sri Ram Dhanvantari, the present convenor at that time along with him to bring the Samithi under the umberella of ISC. Dr Nambiar has categorically stated that Telugu Kala Samithi (TKS) - the ISC Telugu Wing is the one and only recognized and official linguistic body to represent the Telugu community and urged the audience to become members and strengthen the body.

Sri Jitendar Reddy, the Chief Guest has inaugurated “Muscat Telugu Vaani” a bi monthly e-magzine of Telugu Kala Samithi. This e-magzine will bring about the programs and activities of the samithi during the 2 month time period between two editions. Members of the Samithi have been request to send content which can be published in the e-magzine and sent across all the members of the Samithi. Sri B V Subbarao who has come out with this idea and also took the responsibility to bring this issue on a bi monthly basis was felicitated by the Chief Guest.

Dr Satish Nambiar has officially inaugurated the website of Telugu Kala Samithi www.tksmuscat.com at the venue. Keeping in view the importance of communication between the members and samithi. TKS has strived to create the website to have the members details, information about the organized programs and upcoming programs, membership details, feedback form etc. The site was well received by the audience. Sri Nagam Srinivas who was instrumental in creating this website was felicitated by the Guest of Honour.

Sri Ajay Ganti, CEO of Al Seeb Technical Est (SARCO), the presenter of the program has addressed the gathering in Telugu and wished all the audience on the Telugu New Year “Nandana Nama Samvatsaram”.

Sri Srinivas of Manjeera Constructions Company Ltd was so thrilled to see the number of audience present in the auditorium and committed himself that Majeera would continue to be part of the Telugu Kala Samithi future activities.

Sri Teegala Ravindranath, Chairman of Al Majal Petroleum & Engineering Services Co LLC and one of the prominent members of Telugu Community in Oman have lauded the service being rendered by TKS and request all to strengthen the Samithi.

The program started with a song sung by all the Singers namely Geeta Madhuri, Sri Krishna, Parnika and Hanuman. From then onwards the singers mesmerized and captivated by their numbers on the stage and off the stage. The witty conversations in the form of songs has attracted the audience to a large extent.

The dance numbers of Sandeep and Pooja made the audience to stick to the seats in the beginning as they were spellbound by their performances. As the event progressed Sandeep has asked everyone to come on to the dais and dance along with them and many present in the crowd came on to the dais and danced and enjoyed along with the artists.

According to Sri Ram Dhanvantari ,Convener of ISC- Telugu Wing, “ UGADI SUSWARALU, organised by TKS is a grand success breaking all the records of previous Telugu programmes held in Muscat in the content of the programme, the gathered number of audience, the way the audience were captivated and mesmerized by the artists. The very fact that even though the show is to start at 6.00 p.m. in the evening, the Al Falaj Hall was completely filled with audience by 5.30 p.m. itself and they were patiently waiting for the program to start at 6.00 p.m which indicates the euphotia and interest generated in the minds of the Telugu Community about this program. The event was so successful that It was a packed crowd of more than 1,200 people with seating arrangements and 200 people were standing at the end and the organizers felt sad to send back couple of hundreds of enthusiastic audience as there was no place to accommodate them. Other than this, the audience was so engrossed and enjoying the program that they didn’t move till 10.30 p.m. even though the next day is a working day for many of them. TKS humbly thanks every community member for their support in making the event possible.”

The program went on upto 10.30 p.m. in the night and the audience were still asking for more. TKS Committee has also thanked several other individuals including B V Subba Rao, Chinna Rao, Fayazuddin, Ganga Prasad A, Karnakar, K L Naidu, Kalyan A, M N R Gupta and Srinivas G along with the sub-committee members.
