Analysis

Basthi Telugu Movie Review and Ratings

The first half an hour puts the audience in deep confusion and no one would be aware of what the plot is about. Be it romance, comedy, action or any other, not even a single element is carried well in the first half.

But when compared to first half, the second part earns few marks. But unfortunately, those marks do not cross the pass mark as the second half is not an exception for the headache created in first half, other than few scenes in the second part. On the whole, Basthi highly disappoints.

Performance

Being a son of the popular yesteryear actress Jayasudha, Shreyan Kapoor does not disappoint in terms of acting. But he has to take care of his acting skills in the emotional skills, as those are the right scenes to judge an actor’s capability.

Pragathi as Shravanthi has given her best in the film. In many scenes, she resembles many senior actresses in the past. Her face was in fact very familiar, though she made her debut with Basthi. Abhimanyu Sing, Kota Srinivas Rao and Mukesh Rushi are ok with their performances and rest others are found satisfactory.

The story of the film is a club of past hit movies like Dhee, Ready and Jayeebhava. So it lacks uniqueness in it. The screenplay and the dialogues were totally neglected, which leaves the film I deep disappointment.

The music and the background score are below the mark and so is the editing. The production values have been good but the director Vasu Manthena had no clarity about the making. He has completely failed in bringing out the film.

Final Word

Beware of Basthi. Better don’t go in its way.
