Efforts are on to remake the successful low budget Telugu movie ‘Ala Modalaindi’ featuring Nani and Nitya Menon in Tamil and Malayalam languages. 
As the movie, directed by new female director BV Nandini Reddy, has gained success talk and is showing with good collections across AP, a leading Tamil producer has already purchased its remaking rights for more than Rs. 50 lakh, it is learnt. After this, a Malayalam producer also has started negotiations with the ‘Ala Modalaindi’ producer KL Damodar Prasad for purchasing the Malayalam remake rights.
Prasad, who is on cloud nine with the success of his first movie, told journalists that the screenplay of the movie is very simple but different and the story is based on a simple practical point.
The story revolves around Gowtham played by Nani and Nitya played by Nitya Menon who are ditched by their lovers. Gowtham falls in love with a girl but she marries another person loved by Nitya. Both Nitya and Gowtham are forced to attend the marriage of their betrayers and fall in love with each other but face lot of problems in fulfilling their love.
