Well done, SRH, despite losing

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals had a match that was the perfect definition of a neck and neck match on Wednesday at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to come up with a good start but Shikhar Dhawan and Sammy stood up to the moment pushing the team for a decent total of 132 runs. The score which was expected to be just over hundred improved drastically after Sammy thrashed the ball to several boundaries and boosting the runrate to over 10 per over for the last few overs.

Despite a modest total, the bowling attack, the stronghold of SRH, could do the trick for the most part of the game. Tumbling down the wickets one after the other they managed to put RR under a slump.  Watson the earlier ray of hope was dismissed after a stunny catch at the boundary by Sammy. The moment of realization for RR came after Brad Hodge came on to the field. No balls were spared. The score became easy to be chased by the final overs until Perera and Steyn walked on to the pitch and bowled a few very economic overs.

The final over by Sammy was very unfortunate for the SRH and propitious for the Rajasthan Royals. Two sixes off two balls sealed their place for the qualifiers with 4 balls remaining in hand. Brad Hodge was awarded the well deserved Man of the Match title.
