Finally T20 victory for India, in style

After the test debacle with England, India seems to be much amused with the results on Thursday (December 20) at Pune. Not depriving them of the credit, Team India was totally different when compared to their earlier walkout at Kolkata and elsewhere. The alleged End Of The World 2012 day has brought good news to the cricket fans of the nation.

Though the five wicket victory has been the talk of the town, it was south paw Yuvraj Singh's remarkable all round performance that made the roads to the victory well defined. India won the toss and elected to field.

The English team that came into bat was trusting their Test victory but was depressed to see their opener walking back in the fourth over when the score was just 21 runs. Michael Lumb  was the first wicket with just 1 run to his credit.

However Ales Hales, Luke Wright and Jos Buttler made the difference and scored 56,34 and 33 respectively. With this, the visitors made 157/6 at the end of the first twenty overs of the match. Yuvvy was in awesome bowling form and grabbed three wickets after giving just 19 runs in his spell of 4 overs.

India that had come out to bat with the required run rate pegged at around 7.5 runs per over had a steady climb. Each of them looked comfortable and never troubled. However it was Yuvvy's electrifying performance that highlighted the day.

His thirty eight came in twenty one balls with two boundaries and 3 sixes. One can understand how the fans would have reacted to this magnificent innings that earned him the man of the match award.

The humane side of the all rounder was quite visible when he dedicated his man of the match award to the rape victim who is battling for life in Delhi. This incident shook the entire nation and our Yuvvy as well.

To wrap up the series team India need to show the same grits on Saturday in Mumbai when the two teams shall clash for the second and final T20 International meet. (Wishesh AarKay)
