Ashwin spins Indian victory

Ravichandra Ashwin spins the tale for a comfortable victory against the Kiwis in the first test match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium Hyderabad on Sunday. India was well placed in the first test of the two match series with the visitors. The Kiwis who took a follow on in the third day after were short of their victory target set by the Indians in the first innings by 115 runs. Kiwis lost their match by an innings to the Indians.

Batting first  Dhoni and Pujary anchored the Indian innings and posted a uphill target for the Kiwis by scoring 438 runs. Between them the skipper made 73 runs and Cheteshwar Pujara scored indomitable 159 runs. Later on the Kiwis were less comfortable through out the match. They succumbed for a meek score of 159 and were forced to take a follow on.

In the follow on, yesterday they again fell short by scoring just 164 runs. However the players and the fans were dampened by frequent showers which brought about a change in the players. And this could be attributed to be one factor for the visitors. On the whole Team India pulled up together to hog the limelight inspite of top guns that less fired like Sachin, Sehwag and Gambhir. Infact test was their forte and they were dominated by youngsters.

The Spin duo Ravindra Ashwin knocked the Kiwis out of their wits and captured 12 of their wickets in both the innings and local lad Pragyan Ojha claimed six. They grabbed eighteen wickets between them, while Team India won by a margin of 115 runs and innings win against the Kiwis. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
