Maken release Arumugam’s book on Women hockey

Book on Women Hockey written by a person who has in depth knowledge on the subject and has been tracking the history of the sport is worth your collection, even if you are not a hockey fan.

The book fair in New Delhi is fast approaching and by the end of the week the capital will be decked with books from across on various issues. A not to miss event for the knowledge thirsty, is going to be unveiled from Feb 25. More and more books on various issues are getting released to avail the contemporary comments in the book fair.  On such interesting book was released by the Sports Minister Ajay Maken on Thursday. The book written by hockey historian and chronicle K. Arumugam, titled "Glimpses of Indian Women Hockey," was formally inaugurated in a simple ceremony.

The Sports Minister was all praise for the author, as books on women’s hockey are a rarity in India which makes the author’s work still more commendable.

The author of the book said that his book captures the vast history of Indian women’s hockey and provides a profile of more than 200 players.  The book also provides rare vintage images.
