Will India cross the first hurdle of Bangladesh?

imageAt last, the wait is over for the cricket fans. Even as the expectations among the millions of Indian cricket fans are high and the country is waiting with an abundant hope to see some exciting cricket from the Indian cricket heroes, some are getting prepared to visualize the worst.   

While the tenth edition of the cricket world cup, the first edition of which began in 1975 in England, will be under way a short while from now at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka with the opening clash between India and Bangladesh, some are skeptical about India crossing the first hurdle. Will they win the first inaugural match against the budding cricketers of Bangladesh?  We will know the answer to this query in a few hours from now and there is no other go except to wait.

The cricket extravaganza will feature 14 teams which are divided into two groups. The A group consists of  Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada and Kenya and the B group is made up of India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland and Netherlands.

For the first time in the history of World Cup cricket, Australia, which won the cup four times till now including the one in the Indian sub continent in 1987, is participating in the tournament with out many expectations by the cricket fans. Even the former cricketers of Australia have begun to see the Sri Lanka and India as the favourites of this tournament. Will India reach out to the expectations?
