Asaram Bapu Sentenced Life Term For Raping Minor:- Asaram Bapu has been announced convicted by a special Jodhpur court today morning in the rape case of a 16-year-old girl. The incident took place in 2013 and the court sentenced life imprisonment for Asaram. Special judge Madhusudhan Sharma delivered the verdict and Asaram will spend the rest of his life in Jodhpur Central Jail where he has been lodged in from 2013. The security has been tightened in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana ahead of this verdict. Jodhpur will continue to be under 144 section till the end of this month.

Shilpi and Sharad Chandra, the close aides of Asaram have been sentenced 20 years each by the court and his other aides Prakash, Shiva have been acquitted. A 16-year-old girl was raped on August 15th 2013 in Asaram Bapu's Jodhpur asram after which she filed a complaint. Asaram's 12 bail applications have been rejected since 2013 and the girl's parents have been extremely happy with the verdict.
