20 Member Gang Hack 2 Students and a Tour Guide in Kerala

In a tragic incident, a 20-member gang including a BJP-RSS activists hacked two students and a tour guide while they were returning from a tour to Idukki, at Brennan College, Thalassery on Tuesday morning.

"The incident took place at 5.30 AM, when a group of 21 students reached back to the college after the tour. A 20-member BJP-RSS gang allegedly entered the college campus and attacked them with sticks and swords", said the police.

In the incident, the 26-year-old tour guide named Arin, a native of Cherukuli of Melur, Ashwin (25), a student and native of Chickli, and Abhirag (26),a student and native of Vadakara, both pursuing BSc Maths at Brennan College, were killed by the gang.

"Many other students including girls were injured in the attack", police said. The students, however, ran inside the hostels to save themselves from injury.

The police suspect that the ongoing stand-off between the ABVP and SFI from past few weeks could have led to this attack. The group which attacked the students were from other college.

Those injured were immediately admitted to Koduvalli Cooperative Hospital. As soon as police got the information, they reached the spot and a case was registered.
