Dense Fog in North India, 61 Trains Delayed & 13 Canceled

Dense fog has disturbed the transport services around the national capital, Delhi. Poor visibility has led to multiple cancellations and delays on Wednesday.

News agency ANI reported that "as many 61 trains were running late at the New Delhi railway station on Wednesday causing inconvenience to many. Passengers were left stranded after 13 trains got canceled due to the fog and seven were rescheduled."

Along with the railways, even flight operations in New Delhi were also affected. Dense fog led to poor visibility on the runway. Three international and six domestic flights were delayed, three domestic flights were canceled.

A similar situation was seen in other parts of northern India. In Uttar Pradesh, around 17 trains were running late on Wednesday. Another six trains were canceled.

Apart from air and rail transport services, even the bus services around the region were interrupted. Due to low clarity on the highways, Uttar Pradesh was also undergoing connectivity issues. Bihar, Punjab, Haryana too saw dense fog in multiple cities of the states.The entire north India is suffering from cold wave which is most likely to intensify in the coming days.
