Lohiya Group Enters into Rice Bran Oil Segment

Hyderabad based company, Lohiya Group, is presently into edible oil segment through its brand, Gold Drop. The company now has made their segment into rice bran oil on Wednesday.

In an event, the company MD, Mahaveer Lohiya along with Allu Aravind and Dilip Chakravarthy Byra unveiled 1-litre Gold Drop rice bran oil pouch which is priced at Rs 108. The rice bran oil will be available for sale across Odisha and Karnataka states.  The oil will now be also available in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

“This will be our first product in this category along with our other range of products in sunflower, groundnut and palm oil. We are excited to be a part of the rice bran oil segment that is currently at about Rs 85 crore per annum in AP and Telangana,” Mahaveer Lohiya, MD, Lohiya Industries, told the media here after the launch.  

"Gold Drop rice bran oil is the new healthy option for people who want to retain the authentic taste of food," he added. The company produces  6,000 tonnes of rice bran oil annually.  The market of Indian rice bran oil was valued over $600 million in 2014. But now it is estimated to be growing at 10 per cent annually.
