Sriram Sagar project Water Level Increases to 1047.80 feet

Sriram Sagar project (SRSP), which is a lifeline for north Telangana districts, has started receiving fresh inflows with water. The water was released from the Babli project in neighbouring Maharashtra following good rains in the catchment area.

Around 4,400 cusecs of water reached SRSP on Saturday evening. The storage level of SRSP reached 1047.80 feet (5.05 tmc ft). Last year on the same day the water level in SRSP was 1057.80 ft, with 11.50 tmc ft water storage.

Speaking to DC, SRSP Godavari valley circle (GVC)-1 superintending engineer Mr T. Satyanarayana said that “slight water flows in Godavari River had brought the first inflows into SRSP. We are hoping for further inflows if the Gaddenna-vagu project at Bhainsa fills up soon. Outflow from the project would start if the level of the Gaddennavagu project rose by another metre.”
