8 facts about AP capital Amaravathi

While Andhra Pradesh witnessed the historical stone ceremony of Amaravathi yesterday, here are the few things you need to know about the new capital Amaravathi now.  

1. Amaravathi is the first ever capital city to be constructed, following India’s Vaasthu and China’s Feng Shui. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu aims to promote a strong and independent identity by maintaining a reasonable distance from the existing growth centres.
 
2. Amaravathi capital city has many zones, which comprise the central business district, water bodies, residential townships, institutions, parks, recreational spaces, water front etc. Along with this, even the Seed Capital Area is planned on the transit-oriented development principles.
 
3. Amaravathi region comprises of a core “seed capital area” of 16.9 sq km, which will be used for residential purpose by the government, business districts and about 3 lakh people.
 
4. As many new industries and companies are going to be set up in Amaravathi, employment opportunities are expected to be very huge in the coming days.
 
5. More than 40% of the green areas and the blue areas in the seed capital sprawl over 50% of the Seed Capital, are conserved by the Seed Capital.

6. There are many innovative methods for the waste collection, transportation, treatment and resource recovery, mentioned in the Seed Capital Area master plan.  
 
7. Arterial roads and sub-arterial roads of about 26 kms, a metro rail network of about 12 kms, the downtown road of about 7 km, collector roads of about 53 kms and bus rapid transit of about 15 kms, are a part of the master plan.

8. Promoting the walk-to-work environment, a special emphasis has been on the  development of the extensive walkways, interlinked with the open and green spaces with a blue and green network of more than 25 kms.

So, Andhra Pradesh state is going to witness the country’s one of the most successful  capital, that too under the government headed by Chandrababu Naidu, who has an immense experience in facing the big challenges like these. In fact, he is the one person, who played a major role in the development of Hyderabad, in the past.
