ITC Company made a proposal of setting up of a world-class food processing unit in Medak with an investment of Rs.800 crore and also a hotel, with Rs. 1000 crore investments.

"As a commitment from ITC, we assure you that, we will be investing Rs 8000 crore in the state of Telangana. We will expand our paper plant capacity and set up a new hotel in Hyderabad," Deveshwar said during the launch of Telangana's new Industrial policy.

Addressing a gathering in Hyderabad, ITC chairman said that, India needs to significantly ramp up manufacturing capacities.

“ITC was the largest paperboard manufacturer in the country, with a capacity of five lakh tonnes, whereas a single machine in China had a capacity to produce one million (10 lakh) tones. We can create jobs if Indian industry becomes competitive. Capital goes to places where it can multiply. If we are not competitive, we will lose out,” said the ITC Chairman.

“Not only manufacturing capabilities, but the value addition comes from intellectual property,” chairman adds. The ITC chief cited the huge imports of agarbathis from Vietnam and notebooks from Japan, after they had opted for mechanized production.
Aerospace training centre in Telangana

An aerospace training centre would be set up to create a pool of skilled personnel for the aviation industry, in association with the Telangana Government. Along with this, a huge convention centre would be built at the airport.

It is known that, the Telangana government has already announced single window clearance system for all the projects. If they are carried out well, the immense struggle of thousands of people for earning the separate state, would be meaningful.
