Two more senior cops arrested in Telangana Phone Tapping Case:- The recent developments in the Telangana phone tapping case have led to the arrest of two more senior police officials by the Hyderabad Police. This case involves the alleged tapping of phones, including that of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, during the Assembly elections last year, as well as the destruction of computer systems and official data. The arrested officials, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Thirupathanna and Additional Superintendent of Police N Bhujanga Rao, are accused of colluding with the suspended deputy superintendent of police, D Praneeth Rao, in conducting illegal surveillance activities. They have confessed to their involvement in the crimes, including monitoring private individuals illegally and destroying evidence to conceal their actions.

According to the police's remand report, Praneeth Rao admitted to engaging in phone tapping and data destruction on the instructions of former Special Intelligence Bureau chief T Prabhakar Rao. He mentioned tapping the phones of numerous political leaders during the Assembly elections and destroying the snooping data by breaking hard disk devices and burning documents. The investigation into the case revealed a troubling pattern of behavior by Praneeth Rao during his tenure with the Special Intelligence Bureau, leading to his suspension and subsequent criminal case. The police are continuing their probe into this matter to uncover any further instances of misconduct and abuse of power.

The arrests of these high-ranking police officials highlight the serious nature of the allegations and underscore the importance of upholding the rule of law and ethics within law enforcement agencies.
