Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has addressed the media for the first time at a time when his wife Sunanda Pushkar's mysterious death is turning out to be a sensational episode. Mr Tharoor was not available as he was undergoing Ayurvedic treatment in Kerala for the past 14 days, called upon the media to the resort where he was getting treatment.

Shashi Tharoor described himself as bereaved husband and said the investigation should be free of political pressure. He also added that he is ready cooperate fully with the police and his silence in the case should not be interpreted as sinister. He also urged the media to be sensitive in this case and defended himself that he would stick to his last statement in connection with the case. Tharoor indirectly posed questions on the Delhi police by saying that even he wanted to know on what basis, they came to a conclusion that Sunanda's death was a murder.

However, Shashi Tharoor did not answer any query of the media and left the venue in a bad mood.
