Maoists With 20000 kg Of Explosives Pose Threat

It is learnt that the Maoists are having a stock of over 20000 kg of explosives to use against the security forces and political people. It made the situation further tough as the plan of Maoists to send teenagers in School uniforms to use it.  It came to light that women Maoists are keeping track of the security movement.

As the Maoists declared that the polls should be boycotted and it will be seen that the polling process will be obstructed using all force and efforts, the Government has beefed up the security.  CRPF alone deployed 56400 men on duty to ensure polling.  In addition CRPF, forces from BSF, CISF and ITBP are pressed to service along with the local police force.

A senior officer says, "Recent Maoist literature also shows that Maoists are stressing on intensifying mine warfare. Use of teenagers and male cadres posing as voters to target booths is basically to handicap forces who will be reluctant to fire on children and civilians. And if they do, it would help Maoist propaganda".

Maoists also gathered forces around 200 to 300 batches from the States of Maharashtra and Odisha and lead by senior leaders like Thippiri Tirupati alias Deoji and Haribhushan and Damodar from Telangana.  Tirupati was seen in Kanker.

The estimate of the explosives is done on the basis of the looted explosives between 2006 and 2013.  The explosives mainly consist of ammonium nitrate and gelatin.
