Supreme Court not happy with CBI

Supreme Court today expressed displeasure over the following.

1. The draft report was shown to political leaders.  It is not a progress report to share with others.

2. Attorney General GE Vahanvati and the Additional Solicitor Harin Rawal stated earlier that the report was not shared with any political leaders but CBI affidavit states contrary to that.

3. CBI became a parrot in a cage to sing the tune of its masters.

4. Supreme Court to inquire whether any one was shielded in the process of making changes in the draft report.

5. Ministers, SC says, can inquire the status but should not interfere in proceedings.

6. As per the affidavit of CBI, it has many masters.

7. Above all, there is no much progress in the case of Coal Block Allotment since its start.

Supreme Court made it clear that if the interference of political people will have to be checked and CBI has to be made free to investigate without pressure from any corner and SC will take suitable steps to ensure it if the things continue this way.

CAG report shows that transparent bidding process was not followed resulting in a loss to exchequer to the extent of 3340 crores of Rupees.  But Prime Minister who was looking after the coal allocations denies the allegation stating that the process was done in the manner it is supposed to be done.
