Hi good morning, happy weekend. Today is Engineer Day Good news UPA government unleashes a string of economic benefits, detractors call it suicidal bid while supporters call it vision 2014. whatever as a common man, it is roads to progress. Now the policy button is switched on, and development will be seen in a short while from now, the game starts now.... there is only one way to go that is to soaring heights...say the elite political observers.

Thought for the day: Quoted from Sir 'Mokshagundam Vishveshwarya'........'Progress in every country depends mainly on the education of its people. Without education, we are a nation of children. The difference between one man and another, apart from birth and social position, consists in the extent of knowledge, general and practical, acquired by him. We may safely assume that man in all countries within certain limits start with the same degree of intelligence. A civilised nation is distinguished from an uncivilised one by the extent of its acquired intelligence and skill.'

History Speaks: Birth of the Talkie Telugu film industry, on this day in 1931. The industry that gives life to lakhs of people and entertainment to millions made a foray on this day with its maiden Talkie film 'Bhakta Prahalada,' imagine this film had 40 songs. People were awestruck at watching the film onscreen, with dialogues in Telugu. Though  the first motion picture was Bhisma Pratighna in 1921, a silent film. Film industry immensely started to attract entrepreneurs only after the talkie emerged. Kudos to the pioneers....

Days Specialty: Today is Engineers Day, a tribute to the doyen in Indian Engineering, Sir "Mokshagundam Vishveshwarya". Born to Telugu parents, he was the Diwan of Mysore and ruled the community (of Engineers) with his towering vision. He was the architect of the flood protection system for Hyderabad. He was instrumental in developing a system to protect Visakhapatnam port from sea erosion. He was instrumental in charting out the plan for road construction between Tirumala and Tirupati. Tank Bund in Hyderabad is the gift of this great man to this metropolis.

Celebrity Corner: Lets wish actor turned home maker Ramya Krishna Vamsi, an very Happy Birthday.

Tirupati: Devotees rush normal and sources say that only 8 compartments are filled with devotees to have a glimpse of the Lord. Ordinary darshan will just take four hours for the devotees in queue. Ideal time to have a darshan of the lord of seven hills

• Shekar Kammula's Life is beautiful (LIB) a youth anthem,  receives luke warm response. But this a regular phenomenon for the director and the Life is beautiful  movie is sure to get kudos from all, at the box office. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
