The Andhra Pradesh High Court has quashed the bail petition of IAS official Sri Lakshmi, who is accused of passing a controversial government order permitting Obulapuram Mining Company for digging iron ore in Anantapur area of the state. She was arrested by CBI and was lodged at Chanchalguda jail under judicial custody.

Sri Lakshmi, in her bail petition, apparently mentioned that she was arrested nearly eight months back and court should take the note of her family responsibilities and grant her bail. Also, her advocate argued that she be granted bail since there was no progress in the case by the CBI. The court said since CBI was conducting its investigation, bail cannot be granted.
