Train Accident: 3 more bodies claimed

The dead bodies of the ghastly Tamil Nadu Express accident were mostly charred beyond recognition. However based on the DNA reports three bodies were identified by the authorities after the kin of the deceased came to claim the bodies. On Thursday the families of Harpreet Singh (24) and Malkith Singh (30) from Punjab, and CISF jawan Baldev Singh (55) from Uttarakhand claimed the charred remains of the deceased.  The families of Harpreet Singh and Malkith Singh are to cremate the bodies in Nellore itself as the condition of the body are not in condition.

According to officials, DNA test was not conducted on four bodies for their identification but denied that it was on account of the bodies having been burnt beyond the point of identification. They said no family had come so far to claim the bodies. Further, it is suspected that the victims were traveling without ticket, making the identification more difficult.

On 30 July 2012, one of the coaches of the Chennai-bound Tamil Nadu Express (New Delhi - Chennai) caught fire early in morning, near Nellore in Andhra Pradesh. More than 30 people have died and 25 others have been injured. On the ill fated day as per reports the short circuit near the toilets of the S 11 coach in The Chennai bound Tamil Nadu Express, had resulted in huge flames that engulfed the train. Subsequently the chaos for survival had crushed many too. There are many mysteries that need to be unraveled by the investigations teams. The forensic team that arrived to inspect the fire consumed coach can only give an insight to the actual reasons of the accident. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
