200 TDP leaders, activists arrested

As many as 200 TDP activists were allegedly arrested by the police this morning in Rajamundry. There were many MLAs and MLCs among those who got arrested by the police. The TDP cadres expressed their displeasure against the arrest. They said they had come to hand over a memorandum of request to the chief minister and much before they reached the chief minister, they were reportedly taken into the custody.

Some of the TDP leaders termed the incident as undemocratic and lashed out at the chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. It may be noted that Kiran Kumar Reddy is touring East Godavari district and as a part of the same, he arrived at Rajamundry where the TDP leaders gathered and tried to march towards the chief minister. The sources said that the leaders were arrested keeping in view the security issues.
