The Andhra Pradesh government has cancelled Bayyaram mining lease that was granted to YS Rajashekara Reddy’s son-in-law Anil Kumar. The government then entered into an agreement over 1.4 lakh acres lease to Rakshana Steels, which is owned by Anil Kumar.

There has been a wide debate on this subject by several political parties for the past few years. TDP earlier raised this issue and demanded that the lease to Rakhsnana Steels be scrapped. Owing to the demands of the opposition parities, the government passed orders to the concerned department cancelling iron ore mining to Rakshana Steels.
