Liquor merchant body found on railway tracks

The liquor syndicate scam has taken its first toll in Nalgonda district. The dead body of liquor merchant Mr Rajagopal, whose whereabouts were not known for the past two weeks, was found on railway tracks at Gopayapalli village near Narkat Palli in the district this morning.

Rajagopal owned Sandhya Wines in Nalgonda and had been in the business for the last 15 years. While it is suspected he had committed suicide due to financial problems, his family members have alleged it was a murder.

“His dairy contains several names and some one must have killed him fearing he might leak liquor syndicate details to the ACB,” his family members had alleged.
Police refused to confirm whether the death is a suicide or murder saying they would speak only after some investigation. (J)
