Emaar, Jagathi, Sundur pleas dismissed by SC

The Supreme Court today dismissed three petitions filed by Emaar Properties, Jagathi Publications and Sundur Power seeking stay on investigations.

One Mr Bheemi Reddy Yella Reddy filed the petition on behalf of Emaar Properties seeking stay on the investigation into Emaar-APIIC land scam. The petitioner alleged CBI has not been conducting the probe impartially. “The probe is not impartial and there is a need to conduct investigations impartially into the Emaar activities prior to 2004,” he said in his petition.

Filing its counter to the petition, CBI said its officers have been conducting the probe impartially into the Emaar activities covering the period beginning 2000.

Following the affidavit of the CBI, the apex court dismissed the petition but asked the agency to conduct the probe impartially.

Later, the court also dismissed two petitions filed by Jagathi Publications and Sundur Power seeking stay on the CBI investigation into the illegal properties case filed against YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan reddy. These two organizations are owned by Jagan. (JUBS)
