Launching his counter attack on Swamy China Jeer for criticizing the temple administration, the TTD EO Mr LV Subramanyam challenged the seer to show the mistakes committed by the TTD.

“If you show 110 mistakes on our part, we will show some 200 good things done by the Administration,” Subramanyam asked the Jeer in a media conference in Tirumala today.

Taking serious objection to the remarks of Jeer that the state began experiencing turmoil only after the pulling down of the Veyyi Kaalla Mantapam (Thousand Pillar structure) on Tirumala, the EO said the Mantapam had no historical background.

“I am a layman concerning the temple rituals but nevertheless show me one instance of the Administration indulging in an incident that denigrated the sanctity of the temple. In such a case, I am ready even to sacrifice my life,” he said emotionally.

Reiterating that the sanctity of the temple was in no way violated at any point of time, he said Veyyi Kaalla Mantapam was only used for the devotees to rest. The structure had no special significance, he observed.

Finding fault with China Jeer Swami for his ruthless attack on the TTD, Subramanyam said it was not good for an individual to think in terms of controlling an institution.

“I came here to serve the Lord sincerely and the Lord knows what is good and what is bad. If the Lord is angered, I will not be like this. I have perfect faith in the Lord and I can’t help if the Jeer Swami has no faith,” he said in angry reaction. (JUBS)
