Stylish Ranga Rao gets bail, to turn approver in Emaar?

The special CBI court today granted anticipatory bail to Mr Tummala Ranga Rao, director of the Stylish Homes and an accused in the Emaar - APIIC land scam.

While granting the anticipatory bail, the court asked Ranga Rao to submit two sureties of Rs.25,000 each, cooperate with the CBI in the investigation and not leave Hyderabad without the consent of the court. Special judge Nagamaruthi Sarma also directed Ranga Rao to attend the court proceedings on Feb 6.

Expecting arrest by the CBI, Mr Ranga Rao filed a petition for anticipatory bail and the judge granted the anticipatory bail as the CBI counsel didn’t oppose it.

Ranga Rao is the only accused in the Emaar scam to get bail. The court order comes in the wake of reports that Ranga Rao has agreed to turn approver in the case and spill beans in favour of the CBI.

The CBI has so far arrested Koneru Ranga Rao, Sunil Reddy, former CEO of Emaar Properties Mr Vijayaraghavan and Principle Home Secretary Mr BP Acharya.

Meanwhile, the special court ordered the Chanchalguda jail authorities to treat Sunil Reddy as A category prisoner.
