Rajagopal, Sri Lakshmi remand extended

In the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) case, the special CBI court on Wednesday extended the remand of incarcerated, ex- Managing Director of AP Mines and Geology Department V. D. Rajagopal to February 08. Another accused in the case is suspended IAS officer Y. Srilakshmi, who was also arrested in the case. The special court also extended the custody of the IAS officer up to February 08. The CBI court also has extended the remand of Gali Janardhan Reddy and Srinivas Reddy, the prime accused in the case. Sri Lakshmi was produced in front of the Nampalli court, while the others attended the court session via video conference.

As per the earlier directive of the court the remand date had ended today, hence the two were produced before the court by the CBI for extension. The special court January 12, extended the judicial custody of the mining mafia leader and former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, his brother-in-law and OMC Managing Director B V Srinivas Reddy, Rajagopal and Sri Lakshmi till January 25.                   (With inputs from the Internet-AarKay)
