In a major development, CBI today arrested Mr Sunil Reddy, a close confidant and relative of the YSR Congress party president Mr YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
The CBI officials, who have been grilling him for the last two days secretly in the illegal properties case involving Jagan, visited Sunil Reddy’s house early in the morning and asked him to accompany them, according to his wife Ms Krishna Teja.
After questioning him for more than two hours, the CBI sleuths told him he was under arrest. Later, they took him to his house for further searches.
It is learnt that Sunil Reddy, who had left for the US after CBI filed FIR in Jagan’s illegal properties case, has been trapped by the investigating agency which ensured his arrival in India recently. Sources said Sunil Reddy, a close relative of Jagan’s wife Bharathi, looked after Jagan’s properties and played a key role in the management of the illegal funds obtained by Jagan along with Vijayasai Reddy, vice president of the Jagathi Publications.
Reports said Sunil Reddy was mostly in charge of the media affairs of Jagan.CBI has not officially confirmed the arrest of Sunil reddy. (JUBS)
