Congress leaders complain EC on YSRC

With by-poll fever heating up, parties are all out campaigning at the 18 constituencies that are to be polled on June 12. As a part of the war Congress Leaders submitted a petition to the Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh, Bhanwarlal. The petition is a complaint on the members of YSR Congress for not adhering to the model code set by the commission. The main issue was Sakshi Media owned by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had been telecasting a program about 1000 days after the former Chief Minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy died in a plane crash in 2009.

The Congress leaders claimed that the cost of this telecast must be treated as the expense spent on elections. They also said the entourage of supporters with YS Vijayamma would cost the party Rs 20 lakhs per day. This also must be taken as the expense for campaigning. The third was that the Sakshi paper is being freely supplied to people in the by-poll constituency must be considered as disobeying the code.

Earlier the YSR Congress activists approached the CEO that the star campaigner for TDP N Balakrishna is releasing his film on Friday, Adhinayakudu which has some remarks on their leader Jagan. The CEO has ordered an enquiry in to the issue. Also the YSRC activists wanted the movie to be listed in the election expenses.   (With Inputs from Internet- Aarkay)
