Jagan on second day fast, initially greeted with eggs

The young YSR Congress party leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's (JMR) two day fast in Armoor town, Rythu Deeksha, in the Telangana region had successfully entered the second day. The young leader was on the fast to highlight the T-region farmer’s plight and the negligence of the ruling government. As per sources a large numbers of locals and farmers visited the hunger strike venue.  Incidentally the Kadapa MP and the son of late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, JMR visited the T- region for the first time, since the agitation for separate Telangana intensified. Earlier the T-stir activists were firmly against the entry of the young leader on his Odarpu Yatra.

But all was not as good as it is today, for the leader. On Tuesday, women Telangana activists threw eggs at his convoy in Nizamabad, and the leader just missed the bull’s eye of the yolk by guarding himself behind the rolled up windows. Nothing further untoward happened during the hunger strike.

Addressing people Tuesday night, JMR criticized the Congress government for not addressing the problems of farmers. He said farmers were facing severe hardships as they were not getting remunerative prices for their produce and due to lack of financial support from the government. Police have thrown up a massive security cover around JMR hunger strike camp to prevent any untoward incident.
